Research

At the Department of Educational Sciences, research is pursued on subject didactics, school and education history, and the sociology of education, by fourteen doctoral students, ten licentiate students and two professors.
An educational sciences research environment has been built up since the Department of Educational Sciences was established in March 2011. The environment consists of the department’s professors, doctoral students and licentiate students with diverse specialisations in areas such as subject didactics, school and education history and the sociology of education. - contribute to scholarly knowledge development in the teaching profession and teacher training;
- be characterised by relevance and a scholarly, critical approach.

Back-to-school research: Multilingual students achieve better results in English when all languages are used
When multilingual students were allowed to draw on their entire language repertoire in English lessons, the classroom climate changed immediately. This is shown in a new doctoral thesis in Educational Sciences by Tina Gunnarsson at Lund University.
