My research deals with issues in education from the perspectives of ethnicity, multiculturalism, disability and youth cultures as well as work integrated learning. I completed my doctorate in 2010 with the thesis In the Shadow of History Canon: History Taught as a Subject and Identification Formation in a 21st Century Multicultural Society. The focal point of my doctoral thesis is students’ complex identities in multicultural school context and I present a short overview of my doctoral thesis in following short documentary (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47YhzNJInkk)
In a trans-European research project funded by the EU, I have analyzed the ways museums as educational institutions construct national and other identities. I am conducting research on the role of work integrated learning in higher education and challenges teachers, working with students with high-functioning autism, face.
I also work as a project leader for The Swedish National Agency for Education.
