Professor Roger Johansson at the Department of Educational Sciences at Lund University, together with associate professor Helena Tolvhed, Stockholm University and professor Per-Markku Ristilammi, professor at Malmö University, has published the scientific article Zlatan Ibrahimović: a monument and a mirror of his time about how we can understand the conflicts surrounding the statue which is now kept in a warehouse in a secret location.

- A monument is not just an aesthetic decoration in the urban space; it is filled and refilled over time with meaning to present and future viewers. The size and the chosen location of the Zlatan statue, together with the ambiguity of what the monument was supposed to represent, created several different meanings - all loaded with a series of conflicts, says Professor Roger Johansson.
