Application and qualification
Information for those with foreign qualifications who would like to apply for the supplementary teacher training (KPU).
Swedish/Swedish as a second language 3 and English 6 at Swedish upper secondary school level.
This can also be demonstrated via a TISUS test and IELTS/TOEFL test. If you have a Bachelor’s degree in English you need to check if you can be tested for English 6 at admission (if you do not already have it in your upper secondary qualifications)
Once this is complete (or prior to the application period), you need to check if you need any supplementary qualification. E.g. if you have a Bachelor’s degree in English from a country other than Sweden, you need to complete a supplementary course in contrastive elements. Contact the study adviser for more information on this or search for ‘kontrastiv’ at antagning.se. You may even need to complete a supplementary degree project, in this case, it is recommended that you contact the relevant department, e.g. the Department of Biology if you have studied biology and would like eligibility for it, to see what the easiest way is for you to gain supplementary qualifications.
Applications for the supplementary teacher training at Lund University only take place in autumn for our program that is Östarting in the spring semester. Applications are via antagning.se and you must state for which specialisation you would like to be eligible and in which subject/subjects. If you are uncertain about this, you can contact the study adviser at the Department of Educational Sciences.
